About Us

Dr. Timothy Chou retired from Oracle Corporation as the first President of the cloud computing business. He returned to Stanford University in 2005 and started the first class on cloud computing, and since then, he has featured guest lectures from over 100 public company CEOs.

Timothy came out of retirement in 2020 to pursue the Pediatric Moonshot, aligning his actions to the mantra he shares with his students in his closing lectures: "To those much is given, much is expected."

Several years ago, a unique student enrolled in Timothy’s Stanford class. That student — who after graduation went on to be a leader in AI in medicine – was Dr. Anthony Chang.

It was through him that Timothy was more than a little surprised to learn that, even with all that technology had to offer, the health care system was (and still is) using CD-ROMs (or the “more advanced” USB sticks) to transfer health data.

Furthermore, he learned the rapid advances and accuracy we’ve seen in consumer AI simply was not happening in medicine, in large part because improvements in accuracy are inherently dependent on access to large quantities of diverse data.

Our Team

The Pediatric Moonshot crew is made up of professionals with deep knowledge and experience in all aspects of technology: strategy, engineering and product development, sales, marketing, IP and privacy, and operations.
Every crew member is dedicated to contributing their considerable talent to this mission of advancing pediatric healthcare and bettering the lives of children.

Our Mission

During COVID, Timothy made the decision to come out of retirement and assemble a team of experts.children.
Our mission? Create privacy- (and life-) preserving, real-time applications based on access to data generated in all 1,000,000 healthcare machines in all 500 children’s hospitals.
Success in this mission will reduce healthcare inequity, lower healthcare costs, and improve patient outcomes not just nationally, but globally. This is the Pediatric Moonshot.
